4D Flow / Flow pattern analysis

Using a new MRI technique, the 4-dimensional phase-contrast flow measurement (3 spatial dimensions + temporally resolved), it is possible to visualize and analyze the blood flow velocity and direction in the aorta. In collaboration with the physicist Mr. Priv.-Doz. Dr. Markl from the University of Freiburg, who has contributed significantly to the establishment of this method, we investigate the flow patterns in the aorta ascendens after various forms of aortic valve replacement.
